installing and useing actions

hi im new to this so hope I get it right
my ? is i install the ATN file in the actions folder but when i go to use it an alert pops up and says " the object lightness channel is not currently available" I am useing elements 8 and I get this alert even if I am installing actions made for elements what can I do to fix this. thanks for the help and by the way this is a great site

Hi Hakdak,

Actions in Elements, and Photoshop for that matter, can be temperamental at the best of times. If you're getting a message saying the lightness channel is not available it could be a compatibility issue. What is the action you're installing? Is it tested for version 8 of Elements? Where are you installing it?

Let me know and I'll take a closer look
