Photoshop 7 Path Selection Tool

Hi Matt..Thanks for the offer..now for the question, which I managed to lose on my first
attempt..
The above tool is sited on the toolbox l/h side in the form of an arrowhead..click onto the
arrow and you are offered two tools..direct selection tool..and..path selection tool.
You are now able to draw a "frame" round a print..the problem is how to keep it there..no
matter what I do the line vanishes..
comments appreciated.

Gargoyle..

Black and White Arrow Tools

Hi Gargoyle,

Sounds like you're referring to the black and white arrow tools, officially named the Path Selection Tool and Direct Selection Tool. They're both used for selecting and modifying a path outline, ie one drawn with the Pen Tool.

If you want to select an area around an image you're better off using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, also available from the Toolbox.

Hope that helps
