Basic Masks - Part 2 - Video Tutorial

Masks are a massive part of Photoshop and many other image editing packages but I often get asked 'why do we need them?'. With other tools available that get the job done easier and just as fast it's easy to understand the logic behind that question. In part 2 of Basic Masks I'll demonstrate the other, easier, methods and explain why they don't compare to the powers of masking.

Basic Masks - Part 3

Hi Matt,
I watched both videos (Part 1 and 2). Will you be doing a Part - 3? It sounds like you may have already made a Masks part 3, but I just wanted to check for sure.
I do like your videos very much, sometimes they are a bit over my head (my problem not yours), you have a very pleasing voice and a pleasant way of stating your point of view ever so nicely. I think we all have learned the reasons you would do something one way verses another using masks.
I'll just say we (the public) appreciate all your good intent to educate and hopefully you will do a lot more videos so we can understand more of the interrogate and mind warping that PSE has to offer.
I do have one question: Can you tell me were I can link to you so I can ask a question that is not related to this video? I'm a member so maybe we could or should connect through my email address, is that possible?

Kind regards, Jim

Coming Soon

Hi Jim,

I'm a big fan of masking as you can probably tell, there's so much to say but hopefully the 3 (yes three) videos are a good reply to anyone asking 'what is a mask and why do we need them?'. The third part is coming up next weekend so stay tuned.

I'd appreciate any questions that aren't directly related to videos to be kept in the Forums - just keeps everything organised. Feel free to create an introductory post, and then get asking away!

Thanks for your kind comments - I 'm glad you find the videos helpful and look forward to making more in the future!

Hope that helps

Matt
